The Recognition page in Wazo is a dedicated space where employees can view all the recognitions they’ve received or given. Recognition in Wazo is peer-to-peer and manager-to-employee appreciation — celebrating efforts, contributions, and positive behaviors openly.
Each recognition includes the giver’s name and role, the date of recognition, a personalized message highlighting the contribution, and associated badges or awards tied to that recognition (if any). Users can filter recognitions by Most Recent or Oldest, and by Received or Given. The Give Recognition button allows users to instantly appreciate a colleague with a message and an optional badge.
The Recognition feature helps build a culture of real-time appreciation by making gratitude a daily practice rather than an annual formality. It encourages employees to acknowledge one another regularly, creating a more connected and positive work environment.
By recognizing contributions—whether big or small—this feature significantly boosts morale. Employees feel seen, valued, and motivated, which strengthens their emotional connection to their work and the organization.
Recognition also plays a key role in reinforcing positive behaviors. When employees are appreciated for actions that align with company values and goals, it encourages others to adopt similar behaviors and mindsets.
Moreover, it enhances peer relationships by fostering empathy, trust, and teamwork. The feature democratizes appreciation, giving everyone—not just managers—the ability to uplift and celebrate their colleagues, contributing to a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
Imagine a project where a backend engineer helps the sales team automate client onboarding. Even though they aren’t from the same department, a sales executive can send a recognition note, thanking the engineer for the impact they made.
The engineer receives this recognition, complete with a personal message and a badge like "Above and Beyond", publicly acknowledging their cross-functional contribution. This gets displayed in both their profile and the live activity feed.
For Employees: They receive timely, specific, and visible appreciation. This increases engagement, loyalty, and personal satisfaction.
For the Organization: Recognition-driven cultures outperform others on productivity, retention, and employee happiness. Peer recognition also decentralizes engagement efforts, making it an organization-wide habit instead of an HR-driven task.
The Recognition page in Wazo serves as a centralized hub where employees can view all the appreciation they have received or given across the organization. This feature promotes a transparent culture of gratitude and motivates individuals through frequent and meaningful acknowledgment of their contributions.
To access the Recognition page, navigate to an employee’s profile and click on the "Recognition" tab located in the top navigation bar. This will take you to a dedicated space showcasing both received and given recognitions.
At the top of the page, you’ll find two helpful dropdown filters — Sort by (Most Recent, Oldest) and Type (Received, Given) — which allow you to quickly refine the view based on your preferences. A prominent "Give Recognition" button is also available, enabling you to easily recognize a peer.
Each recognition entry on the page displays key information including the giver’s profile picture and name, their role, the date of the recognition, and a personalized message. If a badge or award is associated with the recognition, it will be shown alongside the message for added visibility.
To use this page effectively, you can filter recognitions using the dropdown menus and scroll through the entries to explore meaningful moments of appreciation. To give recognition, simply click on the "Give Recognition" button, enter the recipient's name, write a message, and optionally attach a badge or award to personalize the experience.
